SAN DIEGO–During the Republican National Committee’s winter meeting at the Hotel del Coronado this month Chairman Reince Priebus was re-elected to a third term.
He becomes the longest serving chairman in history of the Republican Party, and the seventh person to serve four years as Republican Party chairman. He was first elected chairman on January 14, 2011, and re-elected on January 25, 2013.
“I am incredibly humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve as RNC Chairman for a third term,” said Chairman Priebus. “We will build on our success of 2014 to have a successful 2016. I look forward to ensuring that we have the best possible operation in 2016 and I thank all of the hard working candidates, committees, and dedicated volunteers and investors for their support in this effort.”
Priebus and the RNC are laying the groundwork for the 2016 presidential elections.
