LOS ANGELES–Actress Carrie Fisher will be honored on Tuesday for her service to the Midnight Mission, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that provides no-cost services to the needy.
Actor Mark Hamill, Fisher’s co-star in the new “Star Wars” film, is expected to join her at the Midnight Mission’s Golden Heart Awards gala which celebrates 100 years of service.
The gala will also recognize Arlene Van Dyke, renowned make-up artist and wife of 2005 Golden Heart honoree Dick Van Duke, and Denise Salazar, rock icon Richie Sambora’s longtime executive assistant.
Sambora and Australian guitarist Orianthi will provide live entertainment at the event, and KLOS radio personality Gary Moore will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The star-studded gala takes place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.
The Midnight Mission, located at Los Angeles’ Skid Row, serves homeless people and needy families with food, shelter, medicare, job training and job placement. The organization offers a path to self-sufficiency to the homeless.
