VALLEY CENTER–A man on parole was arrested Friday for an alleged burglary of an elderly couple’s Valley Center home.
On Friday, just after 11:30 a.m., Jerald Wayne Harris, 47, allegedly entered the home of an elderly couple located in the 26000 block of Valley Center Road. Harris was unknown to the couple and didn’t have permission to be inside their home. The husband was outside of the residence working inside of his shop. The wife returned to the home and heard the main floor shower water running. She went into the bathroom and observed the shower door open with Harris facing her nude. She ran and yelled for her husband. When the couple returned to the bathroom, they discovered Harris had fled. The wife realized her watch had been stolen by Harris.
The wife went outside and located Harris walking northbound on Valley Center Road. She followed Harris until law enforcement arrived. Deputies from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department Valley Center Substation located Harris walking in the 27000 block of Valley Center Road. Harris was positively identified by the victim homeowners and subsequently arrested.
A records check revealed Harris is on CDC parole for burglary and was formerly a sexual assault registrant. Deputies searched Harris and located the victim’s watch that had been stolen inside his pocket.
