OCEANSIDE–Authorities are searching for a pedestrian struck by a Coaster train Sunday evening in Oceanside, authorities report.

A northbound Coaster train, just before 9 p.m., was traveling at approximately 50 miles per hour when an adult male was observed running northbound along the tracks near Harbor and Carmelo Drive. The male failed to yield to the train and was believed to have been struck. A search of the area was conducted by North Coastal Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement Unit, but they were not able to locate the man.
