OCEANSIDE–A vehicle Monday that crashed into a Oceanside motorcycle police officer during a traffic stop may have been intentional, authorities said.

The hit-and-run occurred just after 10:30 a.m. when the driver of a silver Dodge Neon entered Foussat Road and drove at the officer hitting him. The officer was injured and taken by air ambulance to Scripps Memorial Hospital.

The driver and passenger of the Neon left the scene in the vehicle and drove approximately three blocks before abandoning it.

With the assistance of witnesses, one of the suspects was taken into custody. The second suspect, a black male adult wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts and sandals, was not located.
