OCEANSIDE–Firefighters from North County Tuesday afternoon battled a brush fire that broke out near Camp Pendleton and spread near a golf course in Oceanside.

The fire was reported just after 1 p.m. behind Marine Memorial Golf Course, according to authorities.

The 50-acre blaze forced the closure of Douglas Drive, North River Road and Vandegrift Boulevard. No homes were evacuated.

Aerial support for the fire was being hampered due to drone use in the area, according to authorities. Oceanside police used social media to send a cease warning to the operator of the drone.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire just after 5 p.m. Last report says the fire is 60 percent contained.

Authorities reopened the roads in the Oceanside area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
