SAN DIEGO–Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary of Poway will host a luncheon in May to benefit Rady Children’s Hospital.

The Poway Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary’s fourteenth annual Tabletops and Tea will be held May 21 at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar.

The event, chaired by Evan Bakke and Diedre Mikkelson, will include prizes from live and silent auctions and opportunity drawings. KYXY-FM radio personality Tommy Sablan will host the event.

Before enjoying a delicious lunch, guests will browse through an expansive collection at the shopping boutique and silent auction offerings. The live auction gives guests an opportunity to bid on prizes, which in the past have featured such items as sailing trips, travel destinations, and event tickets.

Proceeds raised from the event will benefit Behavioral Health Initiatives, Mental/behavioral health disorders, most common diseases of childhood, with half of all illness occurring before the age of 14. On average, 200 patients per month come through Rady Children’s Emergency Department seeking psychiatric care from their mental and behavioral health professionals. Rady Children’s Hospital helps children and their families manage these conditions which include depression, anxiety, attention deficit and developmental disorders, eating disorders, psychiatric illnesses and trauma related to domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Since 1954, Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, the largest children’s hospital in California, has treated over two million children. Providing the largest source of comprehensive pediatric medical services in San Diego, they are the region’s only designated pediatric trauma center.
