ALPINE–A man and a woman allegedly driving a stolen U-Haul truck were arrested Thursday at a local casino.
The suspects, 47-year-old Kimberly White, and 60-year-old Salomon Saenz, rented the truck over a month ago and failed to return it, according to Sheriff’s investigators.
The couple were charged with vehicle theft. Saenz was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance. In the back of the truck deputies located a significant amount of property that appeared to be stolen.
Alpine detectives are in the process of locating the owners of all of the suspected stolen property; including mail, gift cards, credit cards and other small items.
An Alpine deputy was patrolling the parking lot of a local casino when he located the stolen U-Haul truck. The deputy watched the truck and, with the assistance of casino security, located White and Saenz.
The investigation is on-going.
