SAN DIEGO–An unidentified male was found shot in his upper torso on Interstate 94  freeway Saturday night, San Diego police said Sunday.

Detectives said the incident occurred, just after 11:30 p.m., near Euclid Avenue along the I-94 north shoulder. When police officers arrived on scene, they found an adult Hispanic male laying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Medics arrived on scene at the same time as the officers and started lifesaving measures.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is not expected to survive.

The I-94 freeway westbound on ramp from 4800 A Street was closed for a duration of time while the incident was being investigated.

The victim’s identity has been made but will not be released pending family notifications.
