SAN DIEGO–A portion of State Route 94 (SR-94) near the Campo Creek Bridge in the rural community of Campo will be closed for about two months for repairs.

Caltrans officials say the closure is needed to replace the Campo Creek Bridge.

Detour signs will direct motorists on eastbound SR-94 to Forrest Gate Road, left at Jeb Stuart Road and left at Sheridan Road back to SR-94.  Westbound motorists will be detoured in the opposite direction.

To minimize impacts to motorists and the local community, crews will work 24/7 to complete the project in about two months.  Considerations will be made to minimize the noise during the nighttime operations.

The $5.4 million project will replace the deteriorating 74-year-old bridge with a modern single-span concrete structure.  Funding is provided through the State Highway Operation and Protection Program.
