CHULA VISTA–A 38-year-old Bonita Vista High School music teacher was arrested Wednesday by Chula Vista police for allegedly having sex with an underage student, authorities said Thursday.
Authorities say Jason Mangan-Magabilin was charged with suspicion of nine counts of oral copulation with a minor under 18 and four counts of sex with a minor. He was book into the county jail.
According to Bonita Vista High School’s website page, Mangan-Magabilin was entering his 10th season at the school. He conducted the Crusader Girls Chorus at Bonita Vista Middle School.
Chula Vista police and the Sweetwater Union High School District are conducting individual investigations into the incident.
