SAN DIEGO–Detectives arrested Thursday a 49-year-old Santana High School campus security supervisor and track coach for engaging in sexual conduct with a female student.

Last month the victim’s parents found letters from an unknown person in their daughter’s backpack. The parents revealed the letters were from Santana High School Campus Supervisor and Coach Keith Silvia. The victim’s parents reported the incident to school administrators who in turn reported it to the Sheriff’s Department.

Detectives conducted an investigation and discovered Silvia fostered an intimate relationship with the victim and arranged more than one off campus meeting, where they engaged in inappropriate physical contact.

Silvia voluntarily surrendered to detectives at the Sheriff’s Santee Patrol Station. He was booked into the San Diego Central Jail for four misdemeanor counts of annoying/molesting a child under 18 years of age and one felony count of arranging a meet with a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd acts.
