Vice President Joe Biden

SAN DIEGO–Vice President Joe Biden will travel to San Diego Wednesday to deliver remarks on trade enforcement at the Port of San Diego.

Biden will highlight the Obama Administration’s record on trade enforcement and discuss actions that can further level the playing field for American workers and businesses.

According to the Vice President’s office, since 2009, the Obama-Biden Administration has brought more trade enforcement cases at the World Trade Organization (WTO) than any other WTO member.

Biden’s office added that trade enforcement “helped remove trade barriers and increase export opportunities worth billions of dollars to American workers, farmers, and businesses.”

The Administration says it has taken similarly action through the enforcement of over 300 antidumping and countervailing duty orders, by launching the first ever labor rights case under a free trade agreement, and by signing into law bipartisan customs legislation that provides additional tools and bolsters resources for trade enforcement efforts.

Biden will address officials at the Unified Port of San Diego, Maritime Building on Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal.
