SAN DIEGO–(USNewswire)–The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced that management professor, Dr. Michelle Dean, has been honored by the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as the winner of the 2016 Advisor Award of the Year award.

In addition, the SDSU SHRM student chapter was honored with a Superior Merit Student Chapter Award, marking the third year in a row the SDSU organization has been recognized among the best in the nation.

Each year, SHRM’s national organization honors one “student chapter advisor who is recognized for his/her outstanding service and leadership based on a variety of criteria, including contributions to the development of student leaders and the development of innovative initiatives conducted by the chapter.” There are 250 SHRM student chapters in the U.S.

Founded in 1948, SHRM in the world’s largest association devoted to human resources management and represents more than 285,000 professional and 20,000 student members in over 160 countries.

Dean will receive her award during this year’s Annual SHRM Conference and Exposition held June 19 to 22 in Washington, DC. She will be joined by 10 SDSU SHRM student members to receive the 2015 – 2016 Superior Merit Student Chapter Award, which recognizes the superior growth and development opportunities the chapter provides its members.
