SAN DIEGO–Petco Park has gone to the dogs. The San Diego Padres and Petco today unveiled the pet-friendly The Barkyard.

The Barkyard is six semi-private, premium dog-friendly box seats in Petco Park’s left-center field, available for every Padres home game.

The Barkyard allows dog-loving fans to experience America’s favorite pastime with their best friend by their side, in an elevated backyard-inspired setting. Debuting today, ahead of Petco’s annual Dog Days of Summer event tomorrow, tickets in The Barkyard are now available for purchase for Padres home games beginning June 13 through the remainder of the 2016 season.

“At Petco, we know the best part of being a pet parent is simply spending time together, making memories and strengthening our relationship with our pets, so we love seeing more and more public venues make moves to include our four-legged family members,” said Brad Weston, President and Chief Merchant for Petco. “We’re extremely proud to help our own San Diego Padres introduce The Barkyard at Petco Park as a new way for pet parents to create unique experiences with their dogs all season long.”

Each of the six boxes in The Barkyard can accommodate up to four people and two dogs. All four tickets for each space must be purchased together, regardless of the number of attendees. Ticket prices vary by game, but start at $100 per game for each of the six Barkyard boxes. Formerly a row of the Picnic Terrace group space, The Barkyard will feature a designated entrance from K Street in the Park at the Park, a check-in area staffed by a Petco brand ambassador, and a watering station near check-in. A Padres pet concierge also will be on-hand to escort fans and their dogs to and from The Barkyard.

Conveniently located just a short walk from the designated Pet Relief Area in the Park at the Park, The Barkyard is tailored to your pet’s needs. Each box in The Barkyard offers umbrellas to protect dogs from the sun and specially selected easy-to-clean artificial turf that does not retain heat, to ensure every pup’s paws stay cool. The Barkyard will offer an in-seat menu by The Patio in Left Field. The Patio also will offer a complimentary homemade treat for each canine fan in attendance. Every person in attendance in The Barkyard will leave with a swag bag featuring treats, toys and other goodies, compliments of Petco.

“The Padres are continuously looking for new ways to offer our fans a unique ballpark experience, and with that in mind, we are proud to unveil The Barkyard,” said Padres Vice President, Corporate Partnerships Sergio Del Prado. “Given our longstanding partnership with Petco, it’s only natural that Petco Park would become the first Major League Baseball venue to welcome fans together with their dogs in a dedicated space at every home game.”

Fans wishing to purchase tickets in The Barkyard must apply online, submitting information including vaccination records, license number and other details about their dog. Those fans with dogs that have already been approved in 2016 for Dog Days of Summer will automatically be eligible to purchase tickets in The Barkyard.

The Barkyard joins an existing lineup of dog-friendly elements of the long-term partnership between Petco and the Padres, including Petco Adoption Sundays, the annual Dog Days of Summer event, Bark at the Park events and the annual Padres and Puppies Pet Calendar giveaway in conjunction with the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
