MTS Bus Drivers Vote To Go On Strike

SAN DIEGO–North County Transit District are urging riders to find alternative transportation after San Diego Metropolitan Transit System bus drivers voted to strike on Wednesday, transit officials said today.

The drivers, union members of Teamsters Local 542, voted against First Transit’s offer of increased wages and health insurance. No further information on negotiations was available.

North County Transit District officials say San Diego Metropolitan Transit System’s paratransit service Access and Sorrento Valley COASTER Connections (MTS routes 972, 973, 978, and 979) will be disrupted due to the work stoppage. Services could also impact North County as well.
