SAN DIEGO–Construction crews will close two of three lanes on southbound State Route 75 (SR-75) from Interstate 5 (I-5) in San Diego to 4th Street/Pomona Avenue in Coronado (The San Diego-Coronado Bridge) Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. beginning May 4 through the end of June.

Additionally, one of two lanes on the connector ramps from northbound and southbound I-5 to SR-75 will be closed.
The closures are needed to allow crews to deliver materials and equipment for structural steel bridge painting and to construct suspended scaffolding systems.

The work is part of a $20.6 million project to clean and paint six bridge spans and to construct three maintenance traveler systems inside the bridge. The traveler systems allow inspection and maintenance crews to safely access the inside of the bridge below the deck.

Construction on the project began in November 2015 and is expected to be complete in November 2018.

Drivers are advised to check for traffic alerts and highway conditions by visiting Caltrans QuickMap at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ in advance of travel.
