OCEANSIDE–After Union officials and First Transit reached a tentative agreement last week, Breeze bus operators with the Union voted this week to ratify the proposed agreement and enter into a new, five-year contract. Officials with North County Transit District are pleased that bus operators and First Transit were able to come to an amicable agreement and that passengers were not adversely affected.

“We are very pleased that the Breeze bus operators ratified the agreement. The Breeze bus operators are not just drivers, they are our ambassadors for both customers and the general public. NCTD appreciates the professionalism of our Breeze bus operators and we look forward to their continued service and support,” said NCTD Executive Director, Matthew Tucker.

“First Transit is pleased the members of Teamsters Local 542 ratified a new five-year collective bargaining agreement,” said First Transit Senior Vice President, Nick Promponas. “We are looking forward to working together to provide continuous service to the passengers of North County Transit District. We value our drivers and are proud to be a part of the community.”
