SAN DIEGO–Construction crews will close southbound State Route 67 (SR-67) from Mapleview Street to Riverford Road from 10 p.m. April 15 until 5 a.m. April 18. Motorists can expect significant delays of an hour or more and are urged to ‘Steer Clear of 67’ and avoid the area.

The closure is needed for the County of San Diego’s – Woodside Avenue Flood Control Project. Crews are placing a large box culvert under SR-67 that requires excavation of the roadway to remove underground boulders obstructing construction of the County flood control improvement project.

During this 55-hour closure, the southbound on-ramps from Mapleview Street and Winter Gardens Boulevard to SR-67 will be closed to traffic. The southbound on-ramp at Riverford Road will remain open.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured off of southbound SR-67 at Lakeside Avenue. Heading west, traffic will turn right to continue along Lakeside Avenue and onto Riverside Drive, turn left onto Riverford Road, to southbound Riverford Road entrance ramp to SR-67.

Signs will be placed to assist motorists through the detour. Personnel will direct traffic through the detour during peak hours.
