SAN DIEGO–A group of Westview High School students are in legal trouble after they were detained Tuesday by San Diego police officers for alleged drug use and distribution.

Detectives said an anonymous tip led them to a vehicle that was parked in front of the school.  As a result of the investigation, three 18 year-olds and four juveniles were taken into custody and questioned. They could possibly face drug charges pending the investigation of the case.

“We got a lead. A very specific lead on a vehicle and a vague subject that supposedly using marijuana on their way to school,” said Sgt. Det. Wes Albers at a press conference today.

Sgt. Det. Albers says plain clothes officers noticed multiple incidents of drug uses and drug activities at the vehicle. Police officers searched a couple of vehicles and discovered marijuana paraphernalia and evidence of smoked pot.

The incident is currently under investigation.
