SAN CLEMENTE–Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a man found at a nearby homeless encampment near San Clemente.
On Thursday, deputies from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department North Coastal Station received a call to respond to the intersection of Cristianitos Road and S. El Camino Real near San Clemente, to investigate a report of a possibly deceased male at the encampment.
When deputies arrived they located the encampment in a field near the intersection. At the encampment they discovered a deceased male adult, approximately 60 years of age, who had obvious signs of trauma to his upper body.
Detectives from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detail and North Coastal Station are investigating the incident.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy and will determine the cause and manner of death.
