SAN DIEGO–Two district attorney investigators were conducting a routine follow-up investigation at a residence located in the 7700 block of Dry Creek Place when a pit bull came out of the home and rushed toward them.

One investigator discharged his firearm, injuring the dog. Fragments of a bullet ricocheted, hitting an investigator’s leg and he was transported to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. The pit bull is currently in stable condition and is under the care of the San Diego County Department of Animal Services.
