SAN DIEGO–Finest City Improv introduces the newest thing in beer tasting; a six-sensory explosion of tastes, smells, sights, sounds, touch and joy.
On December 4 from 7 to 9 p.m., Finest City Improv invites San Diegans to pair local brews with belly-aching laughs and get Brew School’d at the new Green Flash tasting room, Cellar 3.
For this one-night only show, the audience can expect a beer experience unlike any other, complete with a guided tour through a craft beer tasting. Finest City Founder and CEO Amy Lisewski narrates as a cast of four extravagant characters and one Green Flash Brew Master collectively taste, evaluate and elaborate on four brews—on stage for the audience.
Performed three times before at the Finest City Improv theater in North Park with Groundswell Brewing and Karl Strauss beers, Brew School’d quickly became a top selling show. For the fourth performance, improvisers make the tasting room their stage and dare guests to pair beers with an unusual complement: improv.
“We’re bringing Brew School’d straight to the brewery bums and tasting room loiterers,” says Lisewski. “What pairs better with a fall stout than side-splitting entertainment?”
As a sans-script show, Brew School’d relies on audience participation. Sippers can expect to have an active role in shaping their evening entertainment, ultimately earning a certificate in something everyone in San Diego should study–craft beer.
Founded in 2011, Finest City Improv performs bold comedy improv every Thursday through Sunday evenings with a goal of bringing people together and spreading joy through laughter. As Lisewski says, “Life is just more enjoyable when you are laughing.” In this case, laughing over a flight of local beers.
