OCEANSIDE–Police officers arrested a 28 year-old male for allegedly stabbing his wife and step-daughter multiple times at their Oceanside resident Saturday evening, Oceanside police said Sunday.
Police officers say the assault took place at Presidio Apartments in the 4400 block of Mission Avenue.
The wife exited the residence and collapsed in front of the apartment building. The man then chased his 14 year old step-daughter as she ran to her grandparent’s apartment which was located in the same apartment complex. Once the juvenile female reached that apartment, the man then stabbed her multiple times. The grandparents and neighbors intervened during the assault and held the man on the ground until police officers arrived and took him into custody.
Both victims were transported to local area hospitals for treatment to their injuries. They are expected to survive.
The man was transported to the Oceanside Police Department for further processing and later booked into the Vista Detention Facility on two counts of attempted murder.
