SAN DIEGO–Crime Stoppers and homicide detectives continue to look for leads to help identify and locate the person(s) responsible for the murder of Eric Galen Hatcher. Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for the crime.
On December 14, at about 2 a.m., a San Diego police officer observed a large fight occurring in the Gaslamp District at 4th and G Street. During the fight, the officer observed an unknown white male wearing a grey long sleeve jacket punch another white male, knocking him unconscious and causing the victim to fall to the ground.
Those involved in the fight fled in various directions. The male who struck the victim fled with his two acquaintances; another male and a female.
Eric Galen Hatcher, 29, of San Diego was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
During the investigation, it was determined that Hatcher was walking north on 4th Avenue at G Street when he was attacked by the male. The suspect(s) fled the scene before police arrived.
The first suspect is described as a white or light skinned Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, five feet, eight to ten inches tall, 165 pounds wearing two-tone, grey and black grey hooded blazer, a dark t-shirt, dark pants and white shoes.
The second suspect is described as a white or light skinned Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, five feet, eight to ten inches tall, 180 to 190 pounds, short dark hair, unknown facial hair, wearing a long sleeve shirt, puffy sleeveless vest, dark pants and dark shoes.
The third suspect is described as a white female, 21 to 26 years old, five feet, four to six inches tall, 115 to 125 pounds with long blonde hair, wearing a long red dress, dress shoes and a light colored knee length jacket.
