SAN DIEGO–Northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) will be closed between Nobel Drive and Mira Mesa Boulevard/Sorrento Valley Road, Sunday through Tuesday from 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., weather permitting.

The closures are necessary to allow crews to install temporary supports for bridge widening on I-805 over Carroll Canyon Road.

Motorists traveling north on I-805 will be detoured to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52), then to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5). Local traffic will be permitted to exit I-805 at Governor Drive and Nobel Drive.

Motorists intending to travel north on I-805 from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road, Nobel Drive, and Governor Drive will be detoured to southbound I-805, then to westbound SR-52, to northbound I-5.

Detour signs will be placed to assist motorists around the closure.

Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of State Route 52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp modifications. This stage is estimated to cost approximately $86 million.
