SAN DIEGO–Feeding the Soul Foundation, a local non-profit that creates concerts for causes, will present a benefit concert on December 20 at the Star Theater in Oceanside.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles, a non-profit empowering young girls through music education to “rock” in life.

Artists slated to perform include  Lee Coulter, MC Flow, Cody Lovaas, Dawn Mitschele, Tolan Shaw, Michael Tiernan and a Superband starring a compiled list of musicians Keith Benton (Bushwalla percussionist), Kevin Freeby (Jason Mraz bassist), Gabe Lehner (9 Theory), Andy Powers (Taylor Guitars), Chaska Potter (Raining Jane) and Mona Tavakoli (Raining Jane). Bushwalla and Day Old Johnson will serve as hosts of the event.

“These musicians love to get up on one stage and participate in creative generosity. Together they create such a powerful evening of music and it’s extra special knowing that together we are all making a huge impact,” said Vallie Gilley, founder of Feeding the Soul Foundation. “From acoustic singer-songwriters to free-styling entertainers, the eclectic group elevates and supports one other, bringing their own personality and talents into a performance that will rock on stage.”

“Feeding the Soul Foundation has supported many organizations over the years and Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles is one that has always been very near and dear to our hearts,” said Gilley. “Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles understands that it takes a certain type of confidence to stand in front of a crowd, put yourself out there and perform. There are no better mentors and musicians to support these young women to have the confidence and self-esteem to become young musicians than these well-known artists who constantly get up on stage.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at Star Theatre, 402. North Coast Highway in Oceanside.

Tickets are $40 per person. To purchase tickets, visit: www.ftsholidaze.eventbrite.com
