SAN DIEGO–Lions, Tigers and Bears, a big cat and exotic animal sanctuary in Alpine, will host their annual Christmas Festival Fundraiser on December 6.

The 1 to 4 p.m. event takes place at the sanctuary and is open to the public. Guests can watch the animals open their Christmas presents and do some of their own holiday shopping with over 50 local artists, crafters and other merchants. There will be live entertainment, food and a special guest appearance by Santa Claus.

Making their debut are the four most recent rescued bears – two Grizzly bears and two Himalayan black bears – in the sanctuary’s newest bear habitat during the event.

“Every year this event gets bigger and better”, said Bobbi Brink, founder and director of Lions, Tigers and Bears. “I think it’s just a great kick-off to the holiday season.  People love to come up to the mountains and enjoy the cool weather.  It’s a fun day and the money raised  goes towards the care of the animals.”

An opportunity drawing will take place during the event with prizes that include a night stay at the sanctuary’s White Oak retreat, restaurant certificates and other items.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for children, with member discount rates available. VIP pricing is $110 and includes a welcome drink and a ‘Feed a Wild One Experience’, with the option to feed a lion, tiger or bear. Guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance at http://lionstigersandbears.org/shop

Tickets available at the door the day of the event, for an additional $10.
