OCEANSIDE—Local residents gathered at Heritage Park on Saturday for a day of music, food and fun at the park’s annual Fall Festival.

The family-friendly event, presented by the City of Oceanside and Friends of Oceanside Parks, featured a chili cook-off, vendors, live entertainment, and a games area for children.

Attendees paid $5 to sample chili prepared by city employees and educators from the Oceanside Unified School District.

Proceeds from the chili cook-off will benefit the City’s recreational programs, and Friends of Oceanside Parks, a non-profit organization that supports family-focused recreational programs in Oceanside.
