LOS ANGELES—Nominations for the 2015 People’s Choice Awards were announced November 4 at a press conference at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.

The awards were announced by: Dave Annable (“Red Band Society”), John Cho (“Selfie”), Katharine McPhee (“Scorpion”), Dylan McDermott (“Stalker”), Cristin Milioti(“A to Z”), Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin”) and Bellamy Young (“Scandal”).

Actors Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum, Hugh Jackman, Mark Wahlberg, and Robert Downey, Jr. were on the list for “Favorite Movie Actor.” The five actresses vying for “Favorite Movie Actress” will be Angelina Jolie, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, Melissa McCarthy and Scarlett Johansson.

The “Favorite Movie” category is a toss up between 22 Jump Street, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Maleficent, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

This year’s action-packed films, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Divergent, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Days of Future Past received nominations for “Favorite Action Movie”

On the music side, Blake Shelton, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Pharrell Williams, and Sam Smith share nods for “Favorite Male Artist.”

The “Favorite Female Artist” nods went to Beyoncé, Iggy Azalea, Katy Perry, Sia and Taylor Swift.

Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, One Direction, and OneRepublic will compete for “Favorite Group.”

Anna Faris and Allison Janney, stars of the CBS sitcom Mom, will hosts the live awards show on January 7, 2015 from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

“We are thrilled to have Anna and Allison as hosts of our show,” said People’s Choice Awards Executive Producer Mark Burnett. “Our job is to entertain our audience, and these actresses have such chemistry and comedic timing that no matter who wins, everyone will be having fun.”
