Fallbrook Airport

FALLBROOK–Fallbrook Community Airpark will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday with a variety of activities for the public.

The free 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event will feature food, airplanes, informational booths and a chance to win a free airplane ride around Fallbrook, courtesy of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Young Eagles and Eagles programs. The airport’s first official flight in 1964 at the airpark will be recognized by airport officials.

All parking for the 50th Anniversary event will be at Fallbrook Union High School, located at 2400 S. Stage Coach Lane. Free shuttles will be available to bring visitors to and from the air park.

Fallbrook’s Trupiano’s Italian Bistro and the Fallbrook Firefighters Association will be selling food for a nominal fee. Vendors will man information booths where people can get information about skydiving, taking balloon rides and learning how to fly with professionals.

The Civil Air Patrol’s Cessna 182 Skylane and “Phantom” — a biplane that has won multiple air-racing championships — and even a flight-training simulator will all be display.
