Schroeder the English Bulldog

SAN MARCOS–The missing five-month old English bulldog puppy, Schroder, has been returned to his owners this afternoon.

Schroder had escaped from 907 West San Marcos Boulevard, in San Marcos in the early evening hours of March 19. He was found and taken to Dogtopia, a nearby dog daycare, located at 925 West San Marcos Boulevard for care.

At approximately 7:40 p.m., that night, an unknown male entered Dogtopia and claimed to be a friend of Schroder’s owner and was given the puppy when he could describe him to the employees of Dogtopia.

Investigators believed this high-profile case led an anonymous male to bring Schroder back to his owners at 907 West San Marcos Boulevard, where they were reunited at approximately 3 p.m. today.

Schroder has been examined by a local veterinarian and appears to be in good condition. Although the puppy has been returned, the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is requested to contact the San Marcos Sheriff’s Department at (760) 510-5200 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
