AUSTIN–Americans for Economic Freedom (AEF) has announced the addition of Carly Fiorina as its newest advisory board member.
“From small business owners to CEOs, business leaders have a deep understanding of the policies that help create jobs, opportunity and innovation,” Americans for Economic Freedom CEO Jeff Miller said. “We are proud to have Carly’s guidance on our board, and look forward to our continued efforts to promote policies that bolster economic freedom and strengthen the U.S.”

Fiorina worked her way through undergraduate and graduate school, and began her business career as a secretary for a small business. She became the first woman to lead a Fortune 20 company, serving as chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard from 1999 to 2005. She was named Fortune’s Most Powerful Woman in Business for six consecutive years.
Fiorina currently serves as chairman of both the American Conservative Union Foundation and Good360, the world’s largest product philanthropy organization. She is one of the most recognized business leaders in the world, a conservative leader with real world results and champion of innovation, education, entrepreneurship and job creation. She is also an outspoken advocate for leveraging women as a resource to solve our most pressing problems. She is the founder of the One Woman Initiative and now serves as a Global Ambassador for Opportunity International.
Fiorina is also engaged in national policy formulation, serving as a senior advisor for the Center of Strategic and International Studies, where she is also co-chair of U.S. Leadership in Development. She is a board member of the Initiative for Global Development, and a founding supporter of the African Leadership Academy. She has also served on the Defense Business Board, as chairman of the CIA’s External Advisory Board and on the U.S. State Department Advisory Group for Transformational Diplomacy. She has been a board member of Kellogg Company, Cisco Systems, Merck and Taiwan Semiconductor.
Fiorina received a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, an MBA from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Science in Business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
AEF operates as a 501(c)(4) that examines and promotes policies that work to create opportunity, and does not engage in direct political advocacy. Board members include Marc Rodriguez, chairman of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Newt Gingrich, August Busch III and Dr. Art Laffer.
