Producer Mike Medavoy
HOLLYWOOD–San Diego County News caught up with producer Mike Medavoy at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Award Media Center on Thursday during Oscar week in Los Angeles.
Medavoy, Chairman and CEO of Phoenix Pictures, has produced many films including: The People vs. Larry Flynt, The Mirror Has Two Faces, U Turn, The Thin Red Line, The 6th Day, All The King’s Men, Zodiac, Shutter Island and the Oscar-winning film Black Swan.
Medavoy talked about his current project, The 33, a film about the Chilean miners that were trapped beneath the earth’s surface for 69 days and rescued in 2010.
The film stars Antonio Banderas, Oscar-winner Juliette Binoche, Rodrigo Santoro, and Golden Globe winner Gabriel Byrne.
