SAN DIEGO–The Interstate 805 South Express Lanes Project construction crews will return to adjust bridge falsework (temporary wood forms) on the East Palomar Street overcrossing on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 18 and 19 requiring the closure of lanes on I-805. Both closures will occur overnight between Telegraph Canyon Road and East Orange Avenue in Chula Vista.

On Feb. 18, two lanes of northbound I-805 will be closed 9 p.m. to midnight and all northbound lanes will be closed midnight to 5 a.m. The southbound lanes will remain open during this closure.

On Feb. 19, two lanes of southbound I-805 will be closed 9 p.m. to  midnight and all southbound lanes will be closed midnight to 5 a.m. The northbound lanes will remain open during this closure.

Southbound motorists will be detoured to eastbound Telegraph Canyon Road, then southbound on Medical Center Drive/Brandywine Avenue and westbound on Olympic Parkway/East Orange Street to southbound I-805. Northbound motorists will use the same detour route in the opposite direction.

Southbound truck traffic will be detoured to westbound State Route 54, then southbound on Interstate 5, and eastbound on State Route 905 to southbound I-805. Northbound truck traffic will be detoured along the same route in the opposite direction.

Freeway message signs will be posted with closure information. Detours will be in place, however, motorists are urged to avoid the area or take alternate routes. Residents adjacent to the construction site can expect intermittent construction noise and lights.
