SAN DIEGO–Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz made a brief stop in San Diego today to campaign for San Diego Mayoral Candidate David Alvarez.
Alvarez and Wasserman Schultz, along with Congresswoman Susan Davis (CA-53), met with two dozen business, faith and community leaders at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation in San Diego. They spoke for about 45 minutes to supporters in a closed meeting held in a conference room.
Alvarez, a Democrat, and Kevin Faulconer, a Republican, are campaigning nonstop to be the city’s next new mayor in the Feb. 11 runoff election.
After concluding their meeting with supporters, Alvarez, Wasserman Schultz and Davis held a news conference outside the Jacobs Center. Alvarez laid out the foundation of his economic development and job creation agenda.
Earlier in the day, Alvarez and Wasserman Schultz attended a private fundraiser at the home of Leanne Hull MacDougall in La Jolla. San Diego Democratic Party Chair Francine Busby was one of many supporters in attendance.
