ENCINITAS–A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday morning by a southbound Amtrak train in Encinitas, Sheriff’s deputies say.
At 8:22 a.m., deputies from the Encinitas Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train. The pedestrian was located along the railroad tracks near the 700 block of Vulcan Avenue and F Street.
The pedestrian struck was a white male adult. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A positive identification of the man will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
