RAINBOW–Two people were arrested after a cockfighting ring was broken up in Rainbow.

Detectives and Sheriff’s deputies discovered the illegal operation in the 47000 block of Rainbow Glen Road around 7 a.m. Tuesday during a probation search.

The Crime Suppresion Team of the Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation arrested 39-year-old Blanca Campos on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.

While conducting a search of the residence, a cockfighting ring was discovered. Animal control officers from San Diego and Riverside counties were called to assist in collecting 46 gaming roosters and fighting implements. The birds were euthanized.

The primary tenant of the property, Rolando Carbajal of Fallbrook, 47, was arrested on charges of possessing gamecocks for fighting.

Cockfighting is a misdemeanor in California.
