RAMONA—Detectives are investigating a shooting incident involving a adult male with gunshot wounds to his leg.
On Thursday at about 4:45 p.m., Sheriff Deputies from the Ramona Station responded to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of E Street in Ramona. Upon arrival, deputies found the man laying next to the road.
A small, semi-automatic handgun was discovered nearby the location of the man. Witness statements lead investigators to believe that the wounded man was possibly trying to get into a nearby residence, then fled from the residence as the shooting occurred.
The man was transported to a hospital with apparent non-life threatening injuries. Ramona Detectives are handling the incident.
